There are many, many apples on our trees this year – far more than we can use ourselves. We’ve never sprayed these trees – they are disease-resistant varieties which were planted by our land’s last owners. The apples are absolutely delicious: crisp, a blend of sweetness and tartness that cooks up perfectly and is also fabulous eaten out of hand. They do have surface blemishes due to the fact that they weren’t sprayed, and they are small because we didn’t thin them this spring.
There’s a brief window of availability for these as I don’t have any cold storage options. So, if you want delicious, local, organic apples, the time to act is now. Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for pickup on the farm or in Grand Rapids.
